If sleeping on your side causes pain, here are three ways to address it:
Shoulder pain: This can result from inadequate support for the shoulder's contour, leading to pressure on bones and muscles. Choose a futon that distributes pressure evenly and supports the contours well to reduce this pressure.
Spinal misalignment: Incorrect side-sleeping posture over time can lead to long-term back pain. Choose a pillow that supports your neck and shoulders to maintain correct spinal alignment.
Hip pain: Side-sleeping can also put pressure on the hips, causing discomfort. Avoid excessively firm or soft futons; instead, choose one that supports your body weight and contours.
To sleep comfortably on your side, align your legs with a side pillow and use an additional pillow to support your arm's weight evenly. Slightly bend your head and knees to maintain weight balance and use a sufficiently high head support pillow to prevent neck strain or discomfort.
