What is Ryokan? Why do tourists favor it?

Did you know that in Japan, there are over 50,000 Ryokan-style accommodations serving tourists?

It's no wonder that many travelers visiting Japan are interested in experiencing a stay at a Ryokan-style lodging.

Just imagine, today we will introduce you to these accommodations and delve deeper into the Ryokan-style bedding.

Ryokan-style accommodations are designed in the traditional Japanese style, with original Japanese decorations, aiming to preserve and transmit Japanese culture. Besides the beauty of the accommodations, Ryokan-style bedding is highly sought after. This is because of the use of futons laid directly on the tatami mats or on the room floor, known as "futon" in Japanese. This setup helps guests feel relaxed and comfortable, as the futon is soft, dense, and well-supporting, allowing the body to maintain good posture and preventing it from sinking into the floor. This provides a refreshing feeling in the morning after waking up.
